WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump revealed new details about his recent summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying the talks lasted nearly three hours and covered a wide range of issues.

“We were together almost 3 hours, and it was very extensive... a lot of points we agreed on,” Trump said. “Now, it’s really up to President Zelensky to get it done... and if they’d like, I’ll be at that next meeting.”

The remarks suggest Trump sees Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as central to advancing peace negotiations following his own discussions with Putin. Trump has signaled that he is willing to take part in future meetings if Kyiv requests his involvement, positioning the U.S. as a potential mediator in the conflict.

While the Alaska summit with Putin produced no immediate breakthrough, Trump stressed that progress was made in identifying areas of common ground. Analysts say his willingness to attend a future trilateral meeting reflects a broader effort to push for a negotiated end to the war in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet Trump in Washington on Monday, a meeting expected to focus on U.S. security aid, Ukraine’s defense needs, and the possibility of charting a path toward peace talks.

For now, Trump says the next step lies in Kyiv’s hands, underscoring both the urgency and difficulty of turning dialogue into a lasting ceasefire.
