Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) praised former President Donald Trump’s renewed efforts to address public safety, saying his administration is focused on “cleaning up the mess” and lowering crime rates across the United States.
In an appearance on Kudlow, Hunt highlighted how Trump’s approach prioritizes law and order at a time when crime remains a key concern in many American cities. He argued that stronger enforcement measures and community-focused policies are necessary to restore public confidence.
“The Trump administration is putting public safety first,” Hunt said, stressing that curbing violence and protecting families must remain a national priority.
The remarks come as Republicans increasingly center their message on crime reduction, portraying Trump as a leader committed to tackling urban violence and repeat offenders. Supporters argue that his policies contrast sharply with what they see as softer approaches under Democratic leadership.
With public safety expected to be a major issue heading into the 2025 political season, Hunt and other GOP lawmakers are signaling strong alignment with Trump’s agenda.
