SOUTHERN ISRAEL — An Israeli military helicopter intercepted a drone launched by Houthi forces over southern Israel, defense officials confirmed.

The interception prevented the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) from reaching its intended target, amid rising concerns over drone activity in the region. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been on heightened alert as cross-border threats from Yemen-based Houthis continue to expand.

No injuries or damage were reported in connection with the incident. The IDF said it continues to monitor the skies and remains prepared to respond to further aerial threats.

The interception highlights both the growing role of drones in regional conflict and Israel’s reliance on rapid-response air defenses to counter them.
