The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that its 810th Mountain Brigade, with support from reserve and engineering units under Division 210, carried out a successful strike on several Hezbollah positions in Lebanon’s Mount Dov area earlier this week.

According to the IDF, the targeted operation aimed to disrupt and prevent Hezbollah’s ongoing efforts to establish military infrastructure near the Israeli border. The strikes reportedly focused on observation posts and logistical facilities believed to have been used for intelligence gathering and potential cross-border attacks.

In an official statement, the IDF emphasized that the mission was a “preventive measure” intended to neutralize future threats posed by the Iranian-backed militant organization. The operation forms part of Israel’s broader strategy to strengthen border security and deter Hezbollah’s military buildup in the volatile region.

Mount Dov, also known as Shebaa Farms, remains a sensitive flashpoint along the Israel–Lebanon border, where Hezbollah has maintained an active presence despite repeated warnings from Jerusalem. The area has seen sporadic exchanges of fire in recent months as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have intensified amid wider regional instability.

Military analysts note that the IDF’s use of specialized mountain units, such as the 810th Brigade, highlights a continued focus on rapid-response operations and terrain-specific warfare. Engineering teams were reportedly involved in both precision demolition and post-strike assessment to ensure the neutralization of identified threats.

No Israeli casualties were reported during the operation. The IDF stated that it remains “fully prepared” to respond to any retaliation or escalation along the northern front.
