A two-alarm fire broke out early Monday morning at a four-story apartment building in East Orange, New Jersey, sending flames and smoke into the air and prompting a rapid emergency response.
The fire erupted around 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Springdale Avenue, with flames visibly shooting from a second-floor window. Firefighters arrived quickly and worked to contain the blaze as residents were partially evacuated from the building.
Aerial footage from Newscopter 7 captured intense flames, heavy smoke, and firefighters climbing fire escapes as crews moved aggressively to knock down the fire. Officials confirmed the blaze was brought under control by approximately 6:30 a.m.
One unidentified person was reported injured at the scene. No additional injuries were immediately confirmed, and emergency responders continued to assess residents and secure the structure following the fire.
Authorities have not yet released the cause of the blaze, and an investigation is underway. The incident underscores the importance of rapid emergency response during early-morning fires, when residents may still be asleep and conditions can escalate quickly.
