President Donald Trump weighed in on the United Kingdom’s decision to formally recognize a Palestinian state, voicing disagreement with Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s move.

Speaking on the matter, Trump emphasized the lasting impact of the October 7th Hamas attacks on Israel. “We have to remember October 7th—one of the worst, most violent days in the history of the world,” he said.

Trump added that while he wants peace in the region, his priority remains the release of hostages and ensuring security for Israel. “I want an end. I want the hostages released… I have a disagreement with the Prime Minister on that score—one of our few disagreements, actually,” he noted.

The UK’s recognition of Palestinian statehood has sparked international debate, with critics arguing it risks rewarding violence while supporters claim it is a necessary step toward a two-state solution. Trump’s remarks underscore the sharp divide among global leaders over how best to address the Israel–Palestine conflict.
