Israeli airline Israir has suspended all ticket sales for its route to Marrakesh, Morocco, pending clarification of new security protocols by aviation authorities.
The decision follows a recent security incident aboard a Flydubai flight, which prompted officials to issue updated security directives. Israir stated that it is awaiting final instructions from the relevant agencies and will adjust its operations accordingly, stressing that the safety of its passengers and crew remains its top priority.
In light of the situation, the airline has also shelved its plans to expand the Marrakesh route. Israir had been preparing to increase its flight frequency to three times a week in the coming months and was in the midst of negotiations to lease an additional aircraft. Those plans have now been put on hold.
According to reports in Israeli media, the final flight on this route under the current schedule is expected to depart on October 20. It remains unclear when regular service will resume. Passengers with existing reservations are advised to contact Israir to confirm their flight status and explore available options.
