Israel Police's elite Yamam unit carried out a dramatic high-rise rescue after a report that a woman had barricaded herself inside her apartment on the 11th floor of a residential building and threatened to jump from her window. Yamam fighters were sent to the scene along with the Negotiators Unit and additional forces. After arriving, the fighters prepared a rescue operation, and they rappelled from the building's roof down to the 11th-floor window. They then took control of the woman and rescued her safely.

Rappelling down a residential tower to reach a window is a demanding maneuver, and it shows how closely the different units work together when a life is at stake. The circumstances of the incident are still under investigation, and the initial report gave no details about what led to it. Behind every call like this is a person in distress, and authorities and mental health experts stress that anyone who is struggling should reach out for support.
