A Bnei Brak resident in his 30s has been indicted for allegedly setting fire to an occupied residential building in the city, forcing families to flee their homes and causing extensive damage to three apartments.
According to the indictment, the suspect arrived at a three-story residential building on HaRav Meshulam Roth Street in Bnei Brak with a plan to set it ablaze.
Prosecutors allege that he poured a flammable substance near a storage shed in the building's courtyard, ignited it, and fled the scene.
The flames spread rapidly from the courtyard toward balconies on the upper floors, forcing residents to evacuate as the fire threatened their homes.
Three apartments sustained severe damage. Balconies caught fire, and beams supporting an awning collapsed during the blaze.
Prosecutors maintain that the fire was a premeditated act that endangered the building's occupants and caused substantial property damage.
The suspect has been formally indicted in connection with the incident. The allegations remain subject to court proceedings, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
