A newly married yeshiva bochur was arrested by Israeli military police while traveling with his kallah to a Sheva Brachos celebration in Yerushalayim.

The chosson, Lieberman, a talmid at Yeshivas Ohr Hachaim, was reportedly detained by plainclothes officers shortly after getting off a bus. The arrest, connected to his military draft status, sparked outrage in the Chareidi community.

According to Israeli media reports, Lieberman was subsequently sentenced to 20 days in military detention. Demonstrators gathered in Yerushalayim to protest his arrest.
