Families across Eretz Yisrael will face another increase in grocery expenses beginning November 1, 2026, as the government raises the maximum regulated prices of eggs by approximately 2.1%.
The price adjustment, announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, will affect the three main sizes of eggs sold to consumers, with the increase varying slightly according to size.
Under the new pricing schedule, a carton of 12 medium eggs will cost up to 13.40 shekels, compared with the current regulated price of 13.13 shekels.
A carton of 12 large eggs will rise from 14.24 shekels to 14.54 shekels, while a carton of 12 extra-large eggs will increase from 15.48 shekels to 15.81 shekels.
The changes represent increases of 27 agorot, 30 agorot and 33 agorot per carton, respectively.
Eggs are among the essential food items purchased regularly by households throughout Eretz Yisrael, making even relatively small price increases noticeable for families that purchase them in large quantities.
The adjustment comes as consumers continue to contend with the cost of everyday necessities, particularly larger families for whom basic groceries account for a substantial portion of household spending.
Egg prices in Eretz Yisrael are subject to government regulation, with maximum retail prices determined through a pricing mechanism that takes production and supply costs into account.
The latest increase reflects changes in expenses associated with producing and distributing eggs, including feed, labor, energy, packaging and transportation.
The new regulated prices are scheduled to take effect on Sunday, November 1.
Although the announced figures represent maximum permitted consumer prices, individual stores may sell eggs for less.
