A pointed new attack ad is making the rounds against Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat, just days before the November election. The ad brands El-Sayed an open borders, no deportations radical, citing him saying the country owes it to the world to open our doors and claiming he sees no difference between someone here illegally and an American citizen. It closes by urging voters to reject what it calls anti-American insanity. El-Sayed, a progressive Democrat and former Detroit and Wayne County public health director, has built his campaign around abolishing ICE and enacting Medicare for All, and he now faces Republican Mike Rogers in a race that has become a flashpoint in the national immigration debate.

El-Sayed's own campaign has described his position differently, saying he supports securing the border and pursuing comprehensive immigration reform while still pushing to dismantle ICE, which he has called a paramilitary force operating outside constitutional limits. That gap between his stated platform and how his opponents are portraying it has become a central tension of the closing days of the race, with the ad representing one side's sharpest attempt yet to define him in voters' eyes before they head to the polls. Immigration enforcement has emerged as one of the clearest points of contrast between El-Sayed and Rogers, and this late ad signals the issue will likely dominate the final stretch of campaigning. With the election just days away, both camps are racing to make their closing case directly to Michigan voters.
