A yeshiva bochur was reportedly arrested by Israeli military police in the Bayit Vegan neighborhood of Yerushalayim on Wednesday evening, October 21, after officers allegedly used a delivery pretext to lure him out of his home.
According to Chareidi media reports, the bochur received a telephone call informing him that a package had arrived and was waiting for him downstairs at the entrance to his building.
When he came outside to collect the supposed delivery, military police officers reportedly approached and placed him under arrest.
The unusual circumstances of the arrest drew attention within the Chareidi community, where the detention of yeshiva bochurim over military service requirements has become a growing source of concern.
Reports indicated that the bochur had previously been detained at Ben Gurion Airport approximately a year earlier in connection with his military status. That detail has not been independently confirmed.
The latest arrest comes amid heightened tensions surrounding the enforcement of military draft requirements against Chareidi yeshiva students, with recent detentions prompting demonstrations in several locations.
The reported use of a delivery pretext has raised additional concern over the methods being employed to locate and detain bochurim who have not resolved their military service status.
The circumstances of the operation, including the alleged impersonation of delivery personnel, are based on published media accounts. No independent confirmation of the officers' tactics has been established.
