Elon Musk has announced a remarkable milestone, completing over 6,000 consecutive miles using Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system without any driver interventions. Driving his 2025 Model 3 Premium Long Range RWD, Musk covered a route spanning 17 states, starting in Raleigh, North Carolina, and reaching Ashland, Oregon, with 59 Tesla Supercharger stops along the way.
According to Musk, the journey totaled 6,076 miles of non-rounded, fully supervised FSD 14.2 operation. This Level 2 autonomous system, released in late November 2025, includes improvements in parking, speed management, and handling complex scenarios such as emergency vehicles on the road. While the system requires drivers to remain alert, the streak demonstrates a growing level of reliability and consistency across long-distance travel.
Tesla enthusiasts and technology observers noted that although some users have reported occasional parking hiccups or challenges in adverse weather, milestones like Musk’s highlight the ongoing evolution of autonomous driving technology. The achievement reinforces Tesla’s continued commitment to advancing FSD capabilities and sets the stage for future software updates aimed at increasing autonomy, safety, and user convenience on public roads.
