Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a forceful appeal to Western governments to take immediate and decisive action against antisemitism worldwide, following the deadly terror attack at Sydney’s Bondi Junction mall on December 13, 2025.

“I demand that Western governments do what is necessary to fight antisemitism and provide the required safety and security for Jewish communities worldwide,” Netanyahu said. “They would be well-advised to heed our warnings. I demand action from them – now.”

The statement comes in response to the stabbing attack in Sydney, which claimed six lives, including two rabbis and a child, and injured several others. Australian authorities have classified the attack as terrorism motivated by anti-Israel sentiment.

Netanyahu referenced earlier warnings sent to international leaders, including an August letter to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in which he criticized pro-Palestinian policies for “pouring fuel on the antisemitic fire.” He reiterated those concerns in his government address on December 14, emphasizing the urgent need for preventive measures and robust security for Jewish communities.

The Israeli prime minister’s remarks underline growing international concern over antisemitic violence and highlight calls for coordinated global action. He urged governments to implement protective policies and strengthen law enforcement measures to prevent further attacks.

Netanyahu’s demand reflects a broader message that Jewish communities cannot be left vulnerable to targeted violence and that failure to respond could have dire consequences. His statement also serves as a reminder of Israel’s commitment to advocating for the safety of Jewish populations around the world.
