Footage emerging from the deadly terror attack at Sydney’s Bondi Beach shows a striking and controversial moment in which a Jewish man confronted an armed Islamist gunman in plain view as gunfire erupted around him.

The incident occurred during the “Chanukah by the Sea” celebration, which was attended by hundreds of members of the Jewish community marking the first night of Hanukkah. Authorities have confirmed the attack was a targeted act of terrorism. At least 11 people were killed and 29 others injured during the assault.
