A new national poll shows Republican leaders Marco Rubio and JD Vance emerging as the most popular political figures in the country after President Donald Trump, while Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer ranks last with historically weak approval numbers.

The Gallup survey, conducted between December 1 and December 15, 2025, among 1,106 U.S. adults, found that Secretary of State Marco Rubio holds a 41 percent approval rating, followed closely by Senator JD Vance at 39 percent. Both figures significantly outperform other national leaders and reflect growing public confidence in the Trump-aligned wing of the Republican Party.

Rubio’s approval is driven by broad recognition of his role on the world stage and his alignment with the administration’s America First foreign policy, particularly on national security and strategic alliances. JD Vance’s numbers are powered by overwhelming Republican support, with an extraordinary 91 percent approval among GOP voters, signaling his rapid rise as a defining voice of the party’s future.

In stark contrast, Chuck Schumer posted the lowest approval rating in the survey at just 28 percent. Once enjoying strong backing from Democratic voters, Schumer has seen his support collapse, dropping from 76 percent approval among Democrats earlier this year. The decline follows widespread frustration within his own party over leadership decisions during recent government shutdown battles and internal divisions.

The polling results underscore a broader political realignment taking place under President Trump’s leadership. Republican figures who strongly support the administration’s agenda continue to gain traction with voters, while Democratic leadership struggles with declining confidence, messaging failures, and party infighting.
