BREAKING – A devastating flood has completely destroyed the mountain village of Dharali in India’s northern Uttarakhand region, leaving at least 50 people missing and prompting urgent rescue efforts.

Shocking video footage shows a violent torrent of muddy water sweeping away buildings, roads, and trees as residents scramble for safety. Eyewitnesses described the scene as "apocalyptic," with homes crumbling in seconds under the force of the deluge.

The disaster struck suddenly, likely triggered by intense rainfall and glacial melt common in the region during this time of year. Authorities have deployed National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) units, search dogs, and helicopters to aid in the search for survivors believed to be buried under debris or washed downstream.

"We're doing everything we can to locate the missing and help the affected families," said a spokesperson for the state emergency department.

Uttarakhand, located in the Himalayas, is no stranger to flash floods and landslides, but this latest event is being described as one of the worst in recent years. Officials have urged nearby residents to evacuate as weather forecasts predict further rainfall in the coming days.
