GAZA STRIP — Over the past two months, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reservists from the 179th Brigade, under the Gaza Division, have conducted extensive operations in the southern Gaza Strip, leading to the dismantling of hundreds of terrorist infrastructure sites.
Operating alongside the Combat Engineering Corps, troops neutralized both above-ground and underground terrorist structures, including sniper positions, weapons storage facilities, and observation posts. Many of the targets were identified and coordinated in real time with the Israeli Air Force.
One major achievement was the dismantling of a 300-meter-long tunnel route and dozens of tunnel shafts, as well as the discovery of numerous weapons, rockets, and launchers.
The IDF said the operations are part of its ongoing effort to eliminate threats to Israeli civilians and cripple terrorist capabilities in Gaza.
“Our mission is to ensure that terrorist organizations can no longer endanger the people of Israel,” the IDF stated.
