The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a new offensive in Gaza City’s Zeitoun area, reporting significant blows against Hamas militants.

According to military officials, the operation—led by the 99th Division along with the Nahal Infantry Brigade and the 7th Armored Brigade—resulted in the destruction of dozens of what the IDF described as “terror infrastructures.” Around 20 Hamas operatives were killed, including a platoon commander.

Troops also engaged militants attempting to plant explosives and attack Israeli tanks, with artillery and air force units providing cover throughout the operation.

The IDF stated that civilians in the area were warned to evacuate before the assault began. Despite this, the offensive highlights the ongoing intensity of the conflict, which has continued to devastate Gaza’s population and infrastructure.
