A carnival ride malfunctioned Saturday night during a school event in Los Angeles, leaving several riders trapped inside for nearly an hour.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. at Bishop Conaty – Our Lady of Loretto High School in the Pico-Union area. The ride, known as The Zipper, suddenly stopped mid-operation, stranding participants inside.
Video obtained by Eyewitness News shows first responders arriving on the scene to assist those stuck. Witnesses reported that some riders remained trapped for up to an hour before being safely evacuated.
No serious injuries were reported, though the malfunction caused panic among attendees and prompted a swift emergency response. Authorities are investigating the cause of the mechanical failure.
