Police in Los Angeles arrested one suspect and are searching for another after a stolen vehicle pursuit wound through Hollywood on Wednesday morning.

The chase began around 6 a.m. in San Pedro after officers reported a white Toyota Avalon stolen. For nearly an hour, the driver weaved recklessly through traffic on the 101 Freeway, narrowly avoiding collisions while a police helicopter tracked the car from above.

The pursuit came to a dramatic end near the 101 and Vermont Avenue, where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. At one point, the man attempted to escape on a bicycle before being caught by officers near Kenmore and Melrose avenues.

The driver is now in custody, but police say the passenger fled the scene and remains at large. Authorities continue to investigate as the search for the second suspect continues.
