WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump expressed confidence in Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell while calling for a reduction in interest rates to further accelerate the U.S. economy.

“I believe that the Chairman's going to do the right thing,” Trump said during remarks at the Federal Reserve. “It’s so big what’s taking place in America. In a short period of time, we made it the hottest country in the world.”

Trump acknowledged the strength of the economy but emphasized that lower interest rates would unlock even more growth. “With all of that being said... we can do better if interest rates come down,” he added.

The statement comes amid growing calls from both business leaders and lawmakers to ease borrowing costs for families and first-time homebuyers, especially as housing affordability remains a key concern.

Trump’s remarks align with his administration’s continued push for policies that support American growth, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
