Judea and Samaria — After an intensive year-long investigation led by Israel’s Shin Bet security agency and national police, authorities have dismantled a weapons trafficking ring accused of supplying arms to terrorist organizations across the region.
Seven suspects are now facing indictment for a series of serious offenses, including arms smuggling, terrorism support, and attacking Israeli forces.
According to officials, the cell was responsible for smuggling weapons from within Israel to terror operatives in Judea and Samaria. One of the individuals under arrest is also suspected of involvement in direct attacks against Israel Defense Forces (IDF) troops.
Authorities seized a significant cache of weapons during the operation, including:
- 6 Glock pistols
- 3 M16 rifles
- 1 Kalashnikov rifle
- Over 100 demolition devices and components
Israeli security officials hailed the bust as a significant blow to regional terror infrastructure and a major success in preventing future attacks.
“The dismantling of this weapons ring is a crucial step in protecting Israeli citizens and disrupting terror capabilities in Judea and Samaria,” a Shin Bet spokesperson said.
The suspects are expected to face formal charges in the coming days.
