Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent drew a sharp contrast with the previous administration, criticizing how President Joe Biden’s team framed the U.S. economy.

“What we're not going to do is what the Biden people did: talk down to the American people and say, ‘Oh, this is just a vibecession. You don't understand how good you have it.’” Bessent said. “We're gonna be out there talking about how we're going to fix it — and fixing it.”

Bessent’s remarks signal a hands-on approach by the Trump administration, emphasizing both direct communication with the public and practical economic measures. His comments also reflect the administration’s effort to distance itself from what it views as dismissive or out-of-touch messaging under Biden.

The Treasury Secretary has pledged to focus on stabilizing growth, curbing inflation, and restoring public trust in economic leadership, framing the administration’s strategy as action-oriented rather than rhetorical.
