Aerial footage shows a large law enforcement response following an active shooter alert at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where at least two students were killed and nine others wounded Saturday afternoon.

University officials confirmed that all of the victims were students. Six of the injured are reported to be in critical condition. The shooting occurred on campus as students were present in academic buildings, prompting immediate lockdowns.

Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies remain engaged in a coordinated search for the suspect, who was still at large hours after the attack. Authorities described the suspect as a male dressed in black and released a brief video late Saturday night showing the individual walking on campus.

Investigators stated they do not currently have footage showing the suspect entering the building where the shooting occurred, nor do they have a clear image of the suspect’s face. Police have not released information regarding a motive.

During the incident, students reportedly barricaded themselves inside campus buildings using desks and tables while awaiting clearance from law enforcement. The university urged students and staff to shelter in place until further notice.

The FBI is assisting local authorities as the investigation continues. Brown University officials said counseling and emergency resources are being made available to students and families affected by the attack.
