The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that troops from the Yehuda Regional Brigade overnight demolished the home of Amran al-Atrash in Hebron, one of the terrorists responsible for the combined ramming and stabbing attack at Gush Etzion Junction on November 18, 2025.

According to the IDF, the attack was carried out by al-Atrash and an additional assailant, resulting in the murder of 71-year-old Aharon Cohen z”l and injuries to three other civilians. Both attackers were killed during the incident.

The demolition operation was conducted overnight in Hebron and involved IDF soldiers, engineering equipment, and a military dog unit. Video and photographic material released by the military shows a bulldozer systematically demolishing the two-story structure amid surrounding residential buildings.

In its statement, the IDF said the demolition “constitutes closing the circle in the framework of the fight against terrorism,” referring to Israel’s policy of demolishing the homes of individuals responsible for deadly attacks as a deterrence measure.

Home demolitions linked to terrorism remain a controversial but long-standing component of Israel’s counterterrorism strategy in the West Bank, routinely defended by Israeli officials as a preventive measure and criticized by Palestinian officials and human rights organizations.

The IDF emphasized that the operation was completed without additional casualties and reiterated its commitment to preventing future attacks on Israeli civilians.
