A third anonymous message demanding 1 Bitcoin for information on Nancy Guthrie’s alleged abductor has surfaced, TMZ reports. Nancy Guthrie, 84, mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie, was abducted from her Tucson home on January 31, 2026, after surveillance footage captured a stocky, mustached man wearing unusual gloves forcibly entering the residence.

The latest communication, sent via email to TMZ, claims to have knowledge of the abductor’s identity and requests payment in cryptocurrency—valued at more than $55,000. Verified wallet activity linked to the message suggests potential credibility, though authorities have not confirmed the information.

Law enforcement officials, including the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, continue to investigate the abduction and surrounding communications. All ransom-related notes remain unverified, and officials caution the public against responding to or engaging with the demands.

The incident has intensified a multi-agency manhunt focused on locating Nancy Guthrie and apprehending the suspect. Authorities are also reviewing security footage, analyzing digital communications, and canvassing the area near Guthrie’s Tucson home to identify any additional leads.

As the investigation unfolds, officials emphasize that paying a ransom does not guarantee the safe return of a missing person and may complicate law enforcement efforts. The emergence of the cryptocurrency demand underscores the evolving tactics used by individuals attempting to capitalize on high-profile abduction cases.

The case continues to draw national attention due to Nancy Guthrie’s connection to a prominent media personality, and law enforcement agencies are urging anyone with credible information to come forward immediately through official channels.
