The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the 252nd Division has completed four months of operations in northern Gaza, marking a significant transition as the 99th Division assumes responsibility for continued activity in the area. Military officials described the campaign as a sustained effort to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and reduce operational capabilities of armed groups embedded in the region.
According to the IDF, forces destroyed weapons depots, observation posts, combat compounds, and extensive terrorist infrastructure both above and below ground. A major clearing operation in Beit Hanoun was also completed, targeting entrenched militant positions that had been used for attacks and logistical support.
The IDF further reported that its fire brigade eliminated more than 35 militants, including individuals involved in the October 7 infiltration attacks, while engineering units dismantled approximately seven kilometers of underground tunnel routes in northern Gaza. The military framed the transition between divisions as part of an ongoing operational strategy to maintain pressure on militant networks and prevent their reconstitution.
