Nearly eleven months after three brave soldiers of the IDF’s 92nd Battalion tragically fell during combat, Israeli forces have dismantled the very tunnel route connected to their deaths—bringing closure to one of the most painful chapters of last year’s fighting. According to the IDF, the tunnel stretched roughly one kilometer in length and reached dozens of meters below ground, marking it as one of the more significant terror infrastructures uncovered in the region.

This operation was carried out in Beit Hanoun, an area long exploited by terrorist elements seeking to hide, maneuver, and launch attacks against Israeli troops and civilians. The soldiers who fell were part of the relentless effort to eliminate these underground threats. Their sacrifice is honored not only in memory but in continued action—action that today has resulted in the removal of another deadly tool used by Hamas and its affiliates.

IDF troops have been conducting wide-scale operations in the area to dismantle the remaining terrorist infrastructure, both above and below ground. What sets this mission apart is that it took place east of the Yellow Line, strictly in accordance with the existing ceasefire agreement. Israel continues to uphold its commitments even while rooted firmly in its right to defend its people and ensure that no tunnel, bunker, or weapons cache remains to threaten the nation again.

The dismantling of this tunnel represents a strategic and symbolic victory: strategic because it removes yet another deeply entrenched threat beneath Gaza’s surface—and symbolic because it affirms that the lives of Israel’s fallen soldiers are not forgotten. Their mission continues through the hands of their brothers-in-arms, who now ensure that no terrorist infrastructure remains where those heroes once stood.

As Israel moves forward under the Trump Administration’s strong backing and unwavering support for Israel’s security, operations like these reinforce a simple truth: terror may hide underground, but it cannot escape justice forever.
