CHINO HILLS, CA — Firefighters are currently battling a rapidly spreading brush fire that broke out on a hillside near the 71 Freeway in Chino Hills. The fire, fueled by dry vegetation and warm winds, has quickly scorched acres of terrain, prompting concerns about nearby homes and traffic conditions.

The blaze was first reported in the early afternoon, with thick smoke visible from several miles away. Multiple firefighting units were immediately dispatched to the scene, including ground crews and water-dropping aircraft.

Authorities have not yet issued evacuation orders, but residents in the area have been advised to stay alert and monitor official updates as crews work to contain the flames.

“Our priority is protecting life and property,” said a spokesperson for the Chino Valley Fire District. “We are throwing everything we’ve got at this fire to stop its spread.”

Motorists are urged to avoid the 71 Freeway corridor, where visibility is limited due to smoke, and traffic delays are expected.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
