WASHINGTON, D.C. — Secretary Doug Burgum criticized the Biden administration’s energy policies, accusing it of undermining U.S. energy independence and aiding foreign adversaries.
“The Biden administration — 68 executive orders against energy production in Alaska, just completely handcuffing America… these kinds of activities clearly helped our adversaries,” Burgum said.
He contrasted the current administration’s approach with that of President Trump, saying: “Under President Trump, he believes in innovation, not in regulation.”
The remarks come as energy production remains a central issue in U.S. economic and national security debates. Supporters of expanded drilling argue it strengthens domestic independence, while opponents warn of environmental damage and climate impacts.
