In Isle of Palms, South Carolina, a routine ride-share trip nearly turned deadly after a vehicle accidentally plunged into a creek — but quick-thinking strangers prevented a tragedy.
According to officials, two good Samaritans rushed to the scene as the car began sinking, managing to pull the driver to safety before the vehicle was fully submerged. Police confirmed the driver escaped with only minor injuries.
Speaking with NBC News’ Jesse Kirsch, one of the rescuers described the frantic moments as they fought against the water to free the driver. The driver, still shaken, expressed deep gratitude to those who risked their own safety to save his life.
