The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have demolished the Hebron home of Ahmad Himouni, one of two Palestinian terrorists responsible for a deadly attack at a Tel Aviv light rail station on October 1, 2024. The attack left seven people dead and 15 others injured, occurring just hours before Iran’s missile strike on Israel.
The demolition was carried out by the IDF’s elite Yahalom combat engineering unit, in coordination with the Judea Regional Brigade. According to the military, the operation was conducted in line with Israel’s policy of deterrence against terrorism, aimed at preventing future attacks.
Security officials stated that Himouni and his accomplice were behind a coordinated shooting and stabbing assault that targeted civilians during the busy morning rush hour. The swift response by security forces at the scene prevented even greater loss of life.
The IDF emphasized that demolishing the homes of terrorists sends a clear message that acts of terror carry lasting consequences. The operation in Hebron proceeded without incident, though local reports noted heightened tensions in the area following the demolition.
This action is part of Israel’s broader counterterrorism measures amid an ongoing wave of violence linked to militant activity in the West Bank and Gaza.
