Providence authorities have released a second piece of surveillance footage showing the suspect connected to the recent Brown University shooting, as the individual remains at large despite an extensive law enforcement effort. The newly released video depicts a person dressed entirely in black fleeing the area shortly after the incident and entering a dark-colored sedan.

The shooting, which occurred on December 15, 2025, injured one student and triggered a large-scale response involving local police and federal authorities. Investigators say the suspect managed to evade detection even though the surrounding area is covered by more than 800 surveillance cameras operated by the city and the university.

The footage, captured by low-resolution nighttime CCTV, has drawn criticism due to its poor clarity. While the video confirms the suspect’s movements and direction of escape, it offers limited identifying detail, complicating efforts to positively identify the individual. Online reactions have highlighted concerns over the effectiveness of campus security infrastructure, particularly given the volume of cameras that failed to produce clearer images.

Police believe the suspect fled the scene in a dark sedan and may have left the immediate area shortly after the shooting. Authorities have not released further descriptive details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation and the need to avoid compromising leads.

The FBI is assisting Providence police in the manhunt, which remains active and resource-intensive. Investigators continue to review surveillance footage, analyze digital data, and follow up on potential sightings as they work to track the suspect’s movements after leaving campus.

Law enforcement officials are urging members of the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the suspect or the vehicle involved. Authorities stress that even seemingly minor details could prove critical in bringing the suspect into custody and ensuring public safety.
