An 18-year-old Wisconsin man pleaded guilty Thursday to killing his parents in a Waukesha home as part of an extremist plot to assassinate President Donald Trump. Nikita Casap admitted to two counts of first-degree homicide in a plea deal with federal prosecutors, each carrying mandatory life sentences without the possibility of parole for at least 20 years.
According to court documents and federal warrants, Casap killed his parents in February 2025 and stole their money to finance his plot. Investigators discovered a manifesto on his phone containing antisemitic material praising Adolf Hitler and detailing plans to create chaos by eliminating both the president and vice president. The manifesto also outlined the use of drones and explosives, and referenced connections with contacts that could help carry out his violent intentions.
Federal authorities noted that Casap had acquired materials and communicated with individuals who could potentially assist in executing the plan. The investigation, which included extensive digital forensics and analysis of his communications, confirmed that the homicide was directly tied to the broader assassination plot.
Casap’s guilty plea ensures he will serve consecutive life sentences for the murders. Law enforcement officials emphasized that the case highlights the threat posed by radicalized individuals seeking to carry out politically motivated violence, and the importance of monitoring extremist networks that may have international links, including potential connections to Russian entities as noted in the investigation.
The plea closes a high-profile case that had drawn national attention due to the combination of familial homicide and the targeted political plot, underscoring ongoing concerns about domestic extremism and the protection of public officials.
