President Trump highlighted the success of his energy policies during his January 21, 2026, World Economic Forum address in Davos, emphasizing their impact on production, prices, and American industry. “In America, I’ve stopped the nation-wrecking energy policies that drive up prices, while sending jobs and factories to the world’s worst polluters,” Trump said. “Under my leadership, U.S. Natural Gas production is at an all-time high, U.S. oil production is up by 730,000 barrels a day… the price of Gasoline is now below $2.50 a gallon in many states.”

Trump attributed these achievements to reversing Biden-era restrictions on domestic energy production. According to U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) data, U.S. natural gas production has reached nearly 109 billion cubic feet per day, while oil output has increased by 730,000 barrels per day since Trump took office. These gains have supported economic growth, job creation, and energy independence, aligning with the administration’s America First agenda.

Gasoline prices have reflected these trends, dropping below $2.50 per gallon in states including Texas and Oklahoma, with the national average at $2.84—the lowest level since 2021. Analysts note that the decline is fueled by higher domestic supply combined with stable global crude oil prices, which currently hover around $62 per barrel.

Trump framed the energy achievements as both an economic and geopolitical success, asserting that strong domestic production protects American consumers from global price shocks while reinforcing the nation’s position as a leading energy exporter. The speech emphasized the link between energy independence, job growth, and economic resilience under the current administration.
